HERE NOW, SOME NBA ALL-STAR NOTES: With the NBA honoring and fund-raising for Historically Black Colleges and Universities during tonight’s NBA All-Star Game, it was a very nice touch to have the assigned NBA referees all hailing from the HBCU schools. Most pundits and NBA insiders believe it is a silhouette of Los Angeles Lakers great Jerry West. If you were around for last week’s column, you’d be fully aware that I was putting 2+2 together when it came to some logical explanation of just who is depicted in the NBA’s classy logo. BOSTON - “I shoulda’ known better!” … “It was not meant to be.” … “Too many people in the know told me otherwise.” Yes, “I was … W…WR…WRO…WRON.WRONG! ”
